Ashburnham Select Board extends Eddie's Flowers cannabis agreement deadline to December

WINCHENDON — May 18, 2026 — Ashburnham Select Board unanimously extends cannabis retailer's host community agreement deadline to December 31. The board approved the first amendment to the host community agreement with Eddie's Flowers Incorporated at 23 Ring State Road, giving the business until the end of the year to complete state Cannabis Control Commission licensing after contractor delays pushed the project well past its original 2022 timeline. Operator Derek D'Ambrosio projected first-year revenues of $2 million and $6 million by year three, drawing skepticism from one board member who called them "pretty aggressive projections." Town Administrator John also flagged that Ashburnham has not yet adopted the state statute needed to receive the 3 percent local cannabis excise tax, and said a proposal will appear at a future town meeting. Separately, the board received word that four pieces of surplus DPW equipment sold on the MuniBid auction platform for a combined $16,100, which will close out to free cash.
