Auburn Recreation District's Party in the Park, set for June 19, highlights a quiet week in local sports.

AUBURN -- The week of June 15–21, 2026 offered little in the way of games or standings, but the Auburn Recreation District has a community event landing squarely in the period: Party in the Park is scheduled for June 19. The ARD calendar also lists upcoming summer programming, including a Pirate Day at the Pool on July 1, Movies in the Park at Recreation Park on July 10, and Free Swim Nights at Sierra Pool on July 10. The district offers ongoing classes in aquatics, swimming lessons, youth development basketball, and adult sports; registration is available through the ARD website.

Auburn Little League's website noted that its registration platform has moved to leagues.bluesombrero.com/auburnlittleleaguebaseball. The site also highlighted an ongoing need for umpires, with a volunteer program and supporting materials available on the league's documents page. No game results or standings were reported for the period.

No Auburn High School games were reported for the week. Auburn Tigers Hockey provided no information for the period.

The Auburn Finance Committee, meeting June 17, touched briefly on recreation finances. Members discussed whether overtime costs for the town's upcoming fireworks event — including for police and fire personnel — should be charged to the Recreation Revolving Account, which the CFO noted carries a balance of nearly $300,000. A DPW overtime transfer originally on the agenda was withdrawn after members noted those costs could similarly be covered through the revolving account for consistency.
