City Posts Flamingo Express FAQs as Summer Season Heats Up

DATELINE: LEOMINSTER

The city published a new FAQ sheet on the Flamingo Express ahead of a weekend packed with community activity, with the Leominster French Canadian Festival set to open Saturday.

TOWN HALL

The city's News Flash page added a Flamingo Express FAQ posting Friday afternoon, pointing residents to the official guide at leominster-ma.gov for details on the popular service. (https://www.leominster-ma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=300)

Separately, residents should note that City Hall will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. The closure does not affect curbside trash and recycling collection, which will run on its normal schedule that day.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library's summer calendar kicks into high gear next week. On Monday, June 29, kids and teens can attend "Whooo's Ready to Paint?" at 10 a.m., and the Yo-Yo Show — billed as a Summer Reading Kick-Off — runs from 3 to 4 p.m. the same afternoon. Tuesday, June 30 brings two more programs: Fairy Houses from 10 a.m. to noon, and a Save the Bay Touch Tank Experience from 2 to 4 p.m. Adults can look forward to a Chess Club session Monday evening from 7 to 8:45 p.m., and an English Conversation Class Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Looking further out, the library will host "Old Glory, New Glory: The History of the American Flag" on Thursday, July 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. — a well-timed program ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
