Library Pairs Zine Workshop and Franco-American Writers Night Tuesday
The Leominster Public Library is stepping into the spotlight this week with a pair of back-to-back evening programs Tuesday — a zine-making workshop and a Franco-American writers event tied to the upcoming French Canadian Festival — as the city heads into a busy late-June stretch.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library at 30 West Street has two programs on the calendar for Tuesday, June 24. First, a Zine Making for Adults workshop runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. — an accessible, hands-on introduction to the DIY publication format open to adult patrons. Immediately after, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the library hosts the Leominster French Canadian Festival Franco-American Writers Program, a literary complement to the festival itself, which is set for Saturday, June 27 on the city calendar.
Looking slightly further ahead, the library's summer season fills out quickly. On Wednesday, June 25, a Film Night for Adults runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Then on Sunday, June 29, the library kicks off its Summer Reading program with The Yo-Yo Show at 3 p.m. — an event open to both kids and teens — alongside a Whooo's Ready to Paint? session at 10 a.m. for the same age groups. Also on June 29, the Chess Club meets from 7 to 8:45 p.m. for adults.
Kids and families have an outdoor adventure on tap Thursday, June 25: On the Trail at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Space and registration details are available through the library's events calendar at leominsterlibrary.org.
