Spencer Transfer Station to Close July 4; Plan Waste Runs Before Holiday

The town's only significant announcement Tuesday was a practical one ahead of the Fourth of July: the Spencer Transfer Station will be closed on July 4, and residents should plan waste drop-offs accordingly.

TOWN HALL

The town posted a reminder that the Transfer Station will not be open on Friday, July 4. No alternative drop-off day was listed in the notice. Residents who typically make a holiday-week run should adjust their schedules before the long weekend. The town's News Flash page is at spencerma.gov.

Also visible on the town homepage: a previously reported item noting that Spencer has settled a lawsuit with Massachusetts Broken Stone, though no new details appeared in Tuesday's feed.

COMING UP

The Conservation Commission meets Wednesday, June 24. The Board of Selectmen is scheduled to meet Monday, June 29.
