Westminster Select Board Approves Appointments, Zoning Referrals, and Budget Transfers

ASHBURNHAM — June 15, 2026 — Westminster Select Board approves sweeping appointments and zoning referrals at June 15 meeting. The board unanimously approved annual reappointments covering more than 60 volunteers and town officials, authorized three inter-fund budget transfers totaling $80,000 — including $70,000 moved from group health insurance to cover legal expenses beyond the annual appropriation — and welcomed Jane DiVoglio as the incoming town clerk, succeeding retiring Ellen Shan. Police Chief Matthew LeMay announced the department will sell commemorative USA 250th anniversary patches for $10 each, with proceeds going to the local VFW post. Chief Kyle Butterfield reported that a roughly six-week legal-department delay has pushed back the selection of an owner's project manager for the Public Safety Building Committee until at least late summer. The board also referred six proposed zoning bylaw amendments to the Planning Board for public hearing, including a proposed ban on data centers in all zoning districts and a new battery storage bylaw.
