Winchendon Summer Programming Season Opens With Library and Parks Events

A packed stretch of community programming begins this week in Winchendon, with Beals Memorial Library and Parks & Recreation both rolling out summer events starting Wednesday, June 24.

The Beals Memorial Library opens summer programming Wednesday with two back-to-back offerings: the Summer Reading Club meets, and the Mystery & Thriller Lovers Book Club convenes — both on June 24. The events mark the start of a busy run through the week.

Thursday, June 25 brings a full slate at and around the library: the Summer Reading Club meets again, a Buttermaking for Kids program is scheduled, and a Community Game Night rounds out the evening. The CFCE Preschool Playgroup also meets Thursday for younger children and their caregivers.

Parks & Recreation joins the fun Friday, June 26 with a Free Community Open Mic & Picnic in the Park, and the week closes out Saturday, June 27 with a Food Truck Festival and Battle of the Bands — one of the bigger community gatherings of the summer season.
