Ashburnham-Westminster School Committee Elects Johnson Chair, Sets Summer Retreat

WINCHENDON — June 4, 2026 — The Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School Committee reorganized Thursday, electing Kyle Johnson as chair, Jennifer Storm as vice chair, and Kimberly Russo as secretary for the 2026-27 school year. The committee, meeting at Oakmont Regional High School's Von Deck Lecture Hall, swore in four re-elected members — Laura St. Cyr, Kimberly Russo, Dean Ledger, and Jeremy Smeltikoff — before moving through a full agenda. Superintendent Scott Stewart introduced Virginia Tedesco as the incoming director of pupil services effective July 1, succeeding Jen Ramsdell; Tedesco, previously the district's assistant director of special education, pledged to have all special education positions filled before the last day of school. The committee set its annual summer retreat for July 23 at 6 p.m. in the school library, then voted 7-0 to enter executive session to discuss an ongoing contract negotiation, with the full committee review of Stewart's superintendent evaluation deferred to the August meeting after the aggregated score is submitted to DESE ahead of a month-end deadline.
