Athol Public Library Launches Summer Reading and Craft Season June 23
With school year's end days away, the Athol Public Library is rolling out a full slate of summer programs — from a plant-themed reading kickoff to craft nights and a book club lunch — giving residents a reason to stop in throughout June and July.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library's summer season opens in earnest on Tuesday, June 23, when the Summer Reading Kickoff: "Plant a Seed, Read" runs from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at 568 Main Street. The theme carries through several other programs: a Potted Pixel Art Plants craft session is set for Thursday, June 25, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., and a Plant Propagation workshop follows the same evening at 5:30 p.m.
Readers of all ages have additional options in the coming weeks. The June edition of Booked for Lunch spotlights *The Road to Tender Hearts* by Annie Hartnett, meeting Monday, June 22 at noon. Later in the month, Stickerpalooza — a drop-in crafting event — runs Tuesday, June 30, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Teen readers can look ahead to Manga Book Club: You Choose!, scheduled for Monday, July 13, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The library is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents can reach the library at (978) 249-9515 or info@athollibrary.org.
