Stevens Memorial Library has been provisionally awarded a $20,000 federal grant to build food literacy programming for residents of all ages, the library's biggest near-term community initiative. No fresh items arrived from Town Hall's News Flash feed in this cycle, making it a quiet Sunday for municipal announcements.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Stevens Memorial Library has received a provisional award of $20,000 through the federal Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The grant, titled "At the Table: Food Literacy from the Ground Up," will fund library programs and resources aimed at helping Ashburnham residents develop lifelong food literacy skills. Library Director Jess Mynes leads the library, which serves a community of more than 6,000 people.

The library has also released its FY2026–2029 Strategic Plan, which outlines updated objectives and priorities developed through conversations with library stakeholders. The plan builds on the foundation of the previous strategic plan and is available to read on the library's website at ashburnhamlibrary.org.
