Fitchburg Extends Landfill Sticker Deadline to September 30
FITCHBURG — Fitchburg heads into the weekend with two practical city notices residents should act on: yearly landfill stickers have been extended through September 30, and outdoor water-use restrictions in place since June 8 remain active.
TOWN HALL
The city's homepage is carrying the landfill sticker extension as an emergency alert, signaling it as time-sensitive for residents. The longer window — through September 30 — gives households additional months to use transfer-station access before stickers lapse. The outdoor water-use restrictions that took effect June 8 are still in force; residents should visit fitchburgma.gov to review the current schedule and permitted uses.
Two other standing items remain posted on the city's site: a Notice of the Declaration of the Organization of the Fitchburg Tourism Destination Marketing District, and ongoing updates on the Intown Downtown infrastructure project.
SCHOOLS
Fitchburg Public Schools has posted the final FY 2026-2027 budget book to its website, making the district's approved spending plan available for public review at fitchburg.k12.ma.us. The district has also issued a notice of intent to shred certain student documents; anyone with concerns about specific records should reach out to the district at fpsquestions@fitchburg.k12.ma.us before the shredding takes place.
