Select Board Calls Special Town Meeting for June 16

The Select Board has scheduled a Special Town Meeting for Tuesday, June 16. The Finance Committee and Select Board are both calendared to meet the same evening. The Rutland Free Public Library at 280 Main St. is signaling its own belt-tightening. Due to budget restrictions, Library Director Kerry Remington has posted revised hours that take effect July 1. Under the new schedule, Tuesday hours shorten from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. to 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Thursday shifts to a noon–8 p.m. window instead of opening at 10; Friday closes at 1 p.m. rather than 4 p.m.; and Saturday hours drop from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. to 10 a.m.–1 p.m. (Saturday closures between Memorial Day and Labor Day remain in effect).
