Town Hall Closes July 2, Transfer Station Shuts July 4 for Holiday

Ashburnham residents should pencil in two municipal closures ahead of the Independence Day holiday, as Town Hall and the Transfer Station will both be shuttered on separate days next week.

TOWN HALL

Town Hall will be closed Thursday, July 2, giving staff a long holiday weekend ahead of the Fourth. The closure was announced Wednesday via the town's News Flash system. Normal hours — Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. — resume the following Monday, July 6.

The Transfer Station will also be closed Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Residents who rely on the weekend drop-off window should plan accordingly and hold materials for the following open day.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Stevens Memorial Library continues to carry a notable piece of good news for Ashburnham readers: the library has been provisionally awarded a $20,000 federal Library Services and Technology Act grant through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The grant program, titled "At the Table: Food Literacy from the Ground Up," will fund library programs and resources designed to help community members develop practical food literacy skills. Library Director Jess Mynes leads the Stevens Memorial Library, located at 20 Memorial Drive.
