Ashburnham Select Board Tells ZBA to Demand Strict Terms on 48-Unit Adams Street Project
ASHBURNHAM — June 1, 2026 — Ashburnham Select Board votes unanimously to send formal comment letter pressing ZBA on 48-unit Adams Street affordable housing project. The board adopted the letter at its June 1 meeting, urging the Zoning Board of Appeals to rigorously negotiate conditions on traffic, public safety, neighborhood character, buffering, and environmental mitigation for the Village Off Main Chapter 40B development. The letter also asks the ZBA to review each of the applicant's ten requested zoning waivers individually and publicly. The board separately approved a bond anticipation note for an $800,000 water storage tank improvement project, with the bond sold to Greenfield Cooperative Bank at 3.15 percent interest following a May 27 sale authorized at last November's special town meeting. Five seasonal recreation employees were also approved for summer staffing at Crocker Pond and Parks and Recreation programs.
