Athol Public Library Launches Plant-Themed Summer Reading Series This Month
The Athol Public Library is rolling out a full slate of summer programming, anchored by a Reading Kickoff event later this month and a series of hands-on craft and book-club sessions running into July.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library's summer season opens with its **Summer Reading Kickoff: Plant a Seed, Read** on Tuesday, June 23, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at 568 Main Street. The theme ties reading to gardening, and the kickoff is the centerpiece of several plant-themed programs the library has scheduled.
Two days later, on Thursday, June 25, the library offers a double-header: **Potted Pixel Art Plants** runs from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for younger crafters, and **Plant Propagation** follows at 5:30 p.m. for those interested in the hands-on horticultural side of the theme. Both events are on the same evening, making it a busy afternoon and night at the library.
Rounding out June, **Stickerpalooza** is set for Tuesday, June 30, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The **Booked for Lunch** discussion group meets Monday, June 22, at noon to discuss *The Road to Tender Hearts* by Annie Hartnett. Looking ahead to July, the **Manga Book Club** holds its next "You Choose!" session on Monday, July 13, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. The library is open Monday through Friday; call (978) 249-9515 or visit athollibrary.org for details or to register.
