Athol Public Library Sets Summer Reading Kickoff for June 23

The Athol Public Library is gearing up for its busiest programming stretch of the summer, headlined by a Summer Reading Kickoff event on June 23 — the most concrete community news in an otherwise quiet Monday cycle.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library's Summer Reading Kickoff, themed "Plant a Seed, Read," takes place Tuesday, June 23, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at 568 Main Street. The event marks the official launch of the library's summer reading program and sets the tone for a nature-and-creativity thread running through the month's offerings.

That same week brings two events on Thursday, June 25: a Potted Pixel Art Plants workshop from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., and a Plant Propagation session starting at 5:30 p.m. — giving patrons two distinct ways to engage with the season's botanical theme in a single afternoon.

Book lovers get their own moment on Monday, June 22 at noon, when the Booked for Lunch series takes up "The Road to Tender Hearts" by Annie Hartnett. The library is at 568 Main Street and can be reached at (978) 249-9515.
